St David CYO is seeking nominations for the following two awards
* Kathy Lamb Award
* Kay Manderson/Tom Conboy Award
Only a CYO coach may nominate their player for the Kathy Lamb Award.
Any parent, coach, teach, or CYO board member may nominate the student/athlete
for the Kay Manderson/Tom Conboy Award.
Any person nominating a student must prepare a written statement
describing why the student meets the qualifications for the award.
Authors are requested to read their nominations during the award
presentation at the CYO Banquet on June 3rd.
Students may be nominated for both awards.
Please submit all nominations to David Dombrowski

The Kathy Lamb Award
Presented in memory of a true “CYO MOM”.
This award is presented to the athlete who best demonstrates team spirit,
enthusiasm, dedication to teammates and to the
Saint David CYO program and overall enjoyment of playing.
Kay Manderson/Tom Conboy Award
Presented in special recognition of the qualities of sportsmanship,
Christian leadership, and over-all Christian attitude
both on and off the field of play. This award represents the most
prestigious recognition given by the CYO Board each year.
The award is presented to the 8th grade student/athlete
who best exemplifies those attributes of Christian development
as viewed by their coaches. This is award is presented in
joint memory of pioneers of the CYO program at Saint David.
As one of its service projects, Saint David CYO will be hosting the Buehler Park Clean-Up as a service project. The event will take place on Sunday, April 29th from 11 am-2 pm.
We encourage all members of the community (especially St David Parish families) to come and spend some time lending a hand in clearing branches and leaves from the park’s walking trails. Even if you cannot be there for the entire time, and time you can give is appreciated.
Park clean up will be held a Buehler Park located at 627 Fitzwatertown Road, Willow Grove. The park is located behind Staples/Bonefish Grill on 611 but the entrance is off of Fitzwatertown Road. Parking is limited so you may have to walk a block to the park from a side street. This is an all weather event so dress appropriately and come armed with a willingness to help and a smile on your face. We will provide gloves, bags and refreshments.

On December 22nd, St David CYO donated over 800 gifts to Saint Peter the Apostle School at 5th and Girard in Philadelphia. Sister Rose, the school’s principal, expressed her gratitude and said that she would pray for us at the Shrine of St John Neumann.
The 8th graders will be going to St Peter’s Church in Norristown and deliver the adult gifts to the Forteniters, a program for adults with mental disabilities. This is an annual event where our CYO shares a meal and social time with the adults. It will be even more special when they deliver the gifts on Jan 5th. If any 8th graders want to participate, they can contact Kristin Rebuck at krebuck@stdavidparish.org
Even in these tough economic times, St David Parish responded tremendously to the Giving Tree this year. We thank all those who donated gifts. We also thank Tony Corbett and Mary Trauger for their work with the giving tree program.

All players in the St David CYO Fall Sports program are required to sign the Code of Conduct and return it to their coaches before the first game of the season. Players may also return it to the St David Rectory in an envelope marked Attn: David Dombrowski, CYO.
The CYO Board will maintain records of all completed forms. No player will be allowed to participate in the CYO sport if the form is not receive before the first game.
